Your Own Disney Character
"Your Own Disney Character"
Dreams. Action. Love. Purpose.
Disney seems to capture the inner desires we all seem to have...
-------------------------------------
This week I was gifted a trip to Disney with a favorite client- getting a chance to talk about all of this and more, and it made me reflect on the magic in my own life.
Sure, I've had some rough spots (financially, relationally, life-changes), but after the chaos settles down, things seem to get.. better.
Talking to this client I said "For me, it's often about trajectory. If you look at some people, they talk a big talk, but two years down the road they are at the same place in life, talking the big talk. They will probably be there in another ten years.. Other people go through things, change and grow, and every few years they are at an even better place in their lives. Those are the people you want to emulate.
What is the difference between the two?
One is Belle, singing about her dreams and living in her books, and the other is also Belle, rushing to the castle, putting her heart out there, taking action, making decisions, reflecting, and moving through her life by HER OWN standards and heart. Small decisions and actions that make big changes.
What small choices and actions could you be making right now to change the trajectory of your life?"
I must admit, I'm *ridiculously lucky in my life, so not all of this is choice and action, but I do think there is something to be said about being the main character of your own movie, and consciously choosing your actions and thoughts/ worldview. I may not have control over what characters are in my movie, or how events "play out," but I do get to choose my "character" and my actions. And appreciate the magic (or chaos) that unfolds.

Anyways, this week was a strong reminder of what values are important to my "character":
Heart
Integrity
Appreciation
Joy
Family
What are yours!?
